Men aren’t all that difficult to shop for…with some advice from your favorite Green Tailor.
#1 Guy Crafts
Men love working with their hands, and most guys have some artisanal hobby. Related equipment or reference books are your number one track to a mans heart…
…that and food obviously.
Gerber Stainless Steel Multi-Tool from Amazon
#2 Guy Gadgets
Guys are all, to a man, suckers for gadgets no matter how useless…don’t take too much advantage of this information.
There’s a wide range of practical paraphernalia that is always a solid hit with guys
I covet these Waterproof, Drop resistant, Shockproof Solar Phone Chargers for hiking so bad <3
#3 Cologne is a Great Idea
If a man enjoys cologne he’ll love the chance to try a new fragrance, and if he’s never heard of such things before, it’s a great opportunity to give it a try.
I’m a long-time fan of Davidoff Cool Water but it’s a bit hit-and-miss when buying for someone else.
#4 Fashion must be Practical
Accessories are a great gift idea, similarly with fragrance he’ll either appreciate an addition to his collection, or appreciate having one on hand should he need it.
If you know he’s not into a certain accessory yet, opt for something conservative, rather than Star Wars cuff links right from the start.
Socks are also always a great idea, and it’s a fun way a lot of men like to be quirky. PACT does some great sustainable socks:
My pair is going strong after 3 years of frequent wear. You can shop them from Amazon, and also read our product review
South Africans can also head over to Mantality and check out a wide range of men’s stuff available online.
And Finally…
#5: DIY is always Great
If you’re completely stumped, remember that most stores have gift cards for sale. Personally I LIVE for Builder’s Warehouse Vouchers!!
Chances are your guy will be buying something for you anyway, because gents are cool like that.
