Trousers – Back to Basics

The last time I put out a designs was back in 2015

I invented the most radical shirt collar ever of all times. Since then the business has been through many ups and downs, traversing such various climes as manufacturing and breast feeding couture to mention just two.

After some soul searching and beating back the flood of demand, I’ve hit on a smart way to once again produce our own collections.

Here’s what we’ve been up to behind the seams:

Starting at the very foundation of garment technology we’ve drawn our own set of trouser blocks, in 10 sizes. This was itself a process of endless iteration until the blocks reliably converted into well fitting (on any client I could convince to try) pants.

From there we decided on a basic design that would work for various body types, and produced a complete pattern (including such exciting things as pockets, yolks and flys) for each size. Again, countless iterations, especially on the bloody pockets!

Once happy with the design and comfortable with the construction sequence, we again conned our clients into trying the samples to make sure the pants fitted (or could be altered) for different body shapes.

This is something most brands fail to do. The initial garment is fitted on a model, and then sized up and down the scale resulting in pure disaster. Check out this post for more on that whole drama.

Anyway the whole point of this blog is to tell you that we’re finally putting out our own collection (of one garment) this Autumn!!!! Go check it out here!!!!!

We have a set of fitting samples ready, and a selection of fabrics at different price points. We’ll fit you in a size that corresponds to your dimensions, and you’ll get to decide on any alterations (skinnier, shorter, looser on the bum whatever) and pick your fabric.

And now because we have all the patterns ready, we can produce your pants ready in two weeks.

As opposed to the two months it currently takes for any custom order…once it rolls into the schedule, which is currently booked till October :'(

I can’t tell you how excited I am to finally put my own work out there again. Even though there’s nothing revolutionary about this design, it’ll be a wonderful distraction from taking up hems ;)

And even more excited to be giving my gents what they’ve been hounding me for for so long: well fitting, well made, decently priced custom clothing.
